Overheard in a local bookshop:
Teenage girl and boy are walking up the stairs together. Teenage girl is talking about a protest that she heard of where some of the participants were teargassed. Teenage boy proudly tells girl, "I very nearly got teargassed once."
This is how he attempts to impress? Do you really think saying something like that is going to a) win you sensitivity points or b) get you a date? And how does one "very nearly" get teargassed anyway?
Just trying to keep my finger on the pulse of this country's youth.
i my experience, bold feats of danger have always impressed the fairer sex - despite it's stupidity.

Hubs, I think you are quite correct in your observation. And as my father said, he has been teargassed many times and it hurts like hell. Nothing too impressive in that, just curious to hear it come out of the mouth of a mere babe.
