Finally, some fresh blood. I'm happy to introduce you to Manny, one of the new faces around the Lijit office. (I almost said that he was the newest member of the family, but that starts to sound cheesy and somewhat cultish.) Manny is one of those guys who loves to joke around, so as you'd expect, he's a perfect fit with the rest of us. Here he is, looking up at me with some serious awe...
He was sport enough to play along with answering my questions. Of course, he didn't have a choice. Let's see what Manny has to say for himself...
1. What is your Lijit contribution?
My contribution will be to try and extract money from this great idea.
2. What is your least favorite word and why?
My least favorite word would probably be “can’t” because you always “can” if you really want.
3. What sound or noise do you love and why?
I love the sound of laughter .. because life is too short for anything else.
4. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt and why?
I would like to be a studio guitarist … but once I picked up a guitar I knew I needed plan B.
5. Something you’re guilty of….
Writing important emails when I’ve had one too many beers.
Manny just started his very first blog and his title (Blahg) is enough to win us over. He posted for the first time just the other day, and while proud of him, I wish he would start writing in a language that I understand.
Funny story about Manny. He was friends with some people who work here and before he was hired, he would stop by on Friday afternoons to have a beer and hang out. While I had seen him around before, the first interaction that we had was when I looked up and saw Manny putting his hands into the M&M jar. I freaked out and chastised him for doing such a thing. (A little backstory on the M&M jar...it was a brilliant idea started by Colleen. UNTIL....a serious sickness started spreading around the office and the only common thing that everyone had shared...was the M&M jar. It brought so much joy and yet so much pain. We have all learned our lessons about sharing germs and pouring the M&M's out of the jar.) To celebrate, Manny agreed to a dramatic recreation of the crime...
We're excited to have Manny around. Just as long as he keeps his hands out of the M&M jar. And remembers to recycle his beer bottles. Is that too much to ask from a new employee?
