What the Lijit stats made me do...

It's a snowy Friday here in Boulder, which causes me to be more introspective than usual. I've heard from a couple of our publishers this week who were in love with our stats, but had no idea that we actually provided them. This tells me that we are not doing a good enough job of promoting our awesome analytics. I haven't had the opportunity to write poetry in a while, so I thought this would be the perfect time to put my lyricism to work in describing how much I love our stats. Sit back and behold the wonder of a rhyming poem, which, as everyone knows, is the hardest type to write.

AN ODE TO LIJIT STATS

When you arrive on Sunday, I love to read what you declare.

You tell me about my readers---of what topics do they care?

What searches were performed? What did they click from there?

What posts did they read the most and which results were bare?

Where in the world do they hail? This info you do share.

You give me many details---from a free service, that is rare.

I might check other stats but honestly, with none do you compare.

Yep. Our stats drive me to write poetry. But in case my testament isn't enough, I thought I would share what some of our publishers have to say about the topic. While not in poem form, their comments bring a smile to my face and a ray of sunshine to my day.

To be honest, I didn't even know Lijit had stats until you wrote. So I checked them out. People are coming to my blog from all over the world! Who knew?”

"I have enjoyed being able to get a sense of who my readers are through Lijit. I am definitely a visual person - the pie charts and bar graphs are very helpful.

                                                                    --Erin, Lucky Designs

"Out of all the excellent features you offer, like the search term cloud and the pop-up search results, the comprehensive stats you provide are the most outstanding. They give me a new dimension of insight into my visitors and what brings them to the blog.”

                                                                    --Malik, The Unbound Movement

"All of you at Lijit should know that I love the weekly stats. Statcounter does a good job of giving me pageviews, unique visitors, geographical origin, etc., but Lijit extends that to what people are looking for, how many are doing it in easy-to-read graphs. Great additional value I didn’t get when I was using Google search.

                                                                            --Ronni,  Time Goes By

If all this isn't enough to make you rush and check your stats page, how about the fact that you don't have to go rush to check your stats page? The best part of this stats deal is that we deliver your weekly stats to your email inbox every Sunday night, accompanied with witty messages (we try!) and Lijit tips you should know. If you want to check your most updated stats, you can log into your Lijit account at any time and click on "my stats" at the top to find out all the juicy details.

Should all this stat goodness go to your head and inspire you to write a poem, send it my way and I'll gladly post it here. Show me up....I dare you.

Grrr... Hurry up and make a XHTML friendly widget so I can get these again. I was also very shocked when I got my stats in my email... I never knew you did them but loved the way they were displayed.

Thanks Lijit

Nice Iambic Pentameter!

Okay, I don't really know if that's iambic pentameter or not, but it rhymes and has meter, so it's good!

Lee...you're welcome.

Lura...thanks for the compliment. I rarely write poetry, so when I do, it always feels like some sort of novelty act. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a rhyming poem.
