There has been a lot of press coverage for Sarah Silverman lately due to her new TV show on Comedy Central. Although I haven't seen the show yet, I am quite sure that I will love it. I hate to act like I've known about Sarah for years, but...I'm going to do it anyways. I've been a HUGE fan of hers for quite some time now. I was lucky enough to see her do some stand-up when I lived in Houston and have been in love with her (comedically-speaking) ever since. Her movie, Jesus is Magic, (besides having one of the greatest titles ever)
is an all-time favorite and should be required viewing for those who take themselves too seriously.
When I was doing stand-up myself (What...Tara, we didn't know you were funny that funny!), I liked to think of myself as a Catholic version of Sarah Silverman. Not that I even come close to approaching her talent, but there are some similarities. She's a non-practicing Jew dating a Catholic. I'm a non-practicing Catholic dating a Jew. We are both tall, thin, beautiful and funny in an offensive way. Yep...practically separated at birth. I will always be a Sarahphile and in the world of comedy, where there are so few ladies representing, she tops my list of people to steal material from emulate.
Wierd but was hearing about this movie from someone else today. Lijit sounds way cool. congrats

Howard, thanks for checking out my blog and for writing about the Lijit search on yours. You should watch Sarah's movie because it's a nice reminder that women can be as funny and offensive as men. In case you'd forgotten...

I haven't seen the show yet, but I plan on TiVo-ing it. I used to enjoy her appearances on Conan, etc.
Jesus is, in fact, magic.
