Believe it or not, we have a bunch of sports fans around the Lijit office. Barney is partial to the Rockies, Daniel likes professional soccer, Andy follows the foosball scene and Charlie is a wicked Wii golfer. Yep, nothing but a bunch of jocks working here. Fortunately, Lijit has many sports bloggers that are using our wijit to help spread their knowledge of different games. Sit back and enjoy the view from the cheap seats...
Awful Announcing was one of the first sports blogs to sign up with us and remains one of our most popular publishers. (I did some earlier investigative work and found one reason.) AA does a great job of reporting on the current events of different sports teams but the real genius behind his blog lies in how he keeps score of the horrible sports announcing that he finds. Plus, he has really funny caption contests.
We Suck at Sports has the best title and tagline of all our sports blogs. (They also claim to suck at writing but that didn't stop them from blogging!) All sports are game for these bloggers and they hold nothing back when it comes to sharing their opinions. If their sports predictions don't keep you reading, then perhaps the carefully placed pictures of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders will.
If you're a fan of the Boston Red Sox (or New England sports, in general), then SOX & Dawgs is the blog for you. While baseball fans here in Colorado may not appreciate the Red Sox posts, the authors of this blog share their sports knowledge and have a fantastic looking wijit in the top left corner that helps you access all of it. Who let the dawgs out, indeed!
To keep our Chicago friends happy, you need not look further than Out of Right Field. Described as your favorite Cubs blog, OORF shares all of the details about the Cubs organization, covering everything from potential player deals to where former Cubs have ended up. In addition to being diehard Chicago fans, the authors of this blog are also big Lijit fans. How big, you ask? They are currently running a Lijit ad in their sidebar just because they like us.
We met Matt Blake, the co-founder of Az Sports Hub, at Blog World Expo. He understood the value of our wijit right away and after coming back from Vegas, our wijit found a customized home on his blog. This site has everything you could ever want to know about any sport happening in Arizona. If the Chicago or Boston sports scene don't do it for you, perhaps you should check out all they have to offer in the Southwest region.
Walk Off Balk is my favorite type of sports blog. The author doesn't post about sports so much as he writes about the crazy stuff that athletes are doing off the court/field. He calls it sports randomness, while I call it a good read. If you're interested in what athletes have been arrested lately or who's been accused of biting whom, this blog is right up your alley.
Last, but far from least, is Outside The Line. This blog proclaims itself "not another Cricket blog" and I can safely say that there is no false advertising in that statement. All of the other blogs included on this list deal with mainstream sports topics, but this blog, like the title, is very far outside the line. I know nothing about cricket, but with posts this well-written, I found myself wondering how far I'd have to travel to actually see a live game.
That's the final buzzer for this post and once again, it's all in a day's work...
Thanks for the shout out Tara. I love the lijit widget and so do the readers.

Hey Tara - you actually don't have to go that far to see a live game (when the snow disappears in this fine state). A few of the guys get together every summer for a game or two down in Denver(and I think there may even be a rec league somewhere). Anyway, the watching experience is pretty similar to baseball - best sampled with beer....

Oh yeah - I was actually talking about cricket. Sorry 8-)

If only I was interested in all these US sports.... Find some real ones next time :P
Your one super cool chick... Any jobs going in England? If you ever open up here let me know :D

Aaron...thanks for the cricket info. Perhaps when I'm looking for a more international experience in Denver this spring, I'll ask for directions. I'm always up for learning new games.
Lee...thanks for the chuckle. But I did include a little cricket, which is definitely NOT a U.S. sport. When we open up an office in England, I'll be sure to let you know, since I'll be working there myself. :)

Now your just getting my hopes up... I don't mind.
You cant just have CRICKET in it! That's like saying "The rest of the world likes the most boring sport in the world" you cant judge us all by that. Now Train spotting is classed as a sport... that's where the fun is at! (Joke...)
Add "Football" or as you yanks call it Soccer (God knows why) or Rugby..
