First of all, patient readers, I must apologize for my leave of absence from this blog. Neglecting this blog was never my intent and yet, it somehow happened. Let me attempt to explain.
After I returned home from my trip to NYC in early April, there was some talk about revamping the Lijit company blog and what that entailed. Up until that point, the "official" Lijit blog was something that we updated every now and again, with no real rhyme or reason. After much deliberation, it was decided that I should focus more on improving the Lijit blog. I think this was a good decision since it was beginning to feel like I was simply using this blog to shill for Lijit and that was never meant to be my purpose here.
If you want to read specifically about Lijit, check out The Second Click, the place where I share new features, spotlight our publishers, introduce new Lijit employees and discuss the general state of our industry. Please feel free to subscribe and add the Lijit blog to your feed reader.
But what about this space? What's going to happen here?
That is where you come in. I was thinking that I should attempt to get back to my tagline and start writing about my experiences in the startup world. In rethinking my blog's focus, I need your help. What do you want to see here?
Some of my ideas include:
Send me an email or leave a comment and tell me what you think. I'm asking for it. And in return, I give you my word that I won't let another two months pass without an update.
And in the words of Georg Christoph Lichtenberg...

Some of my ideas include:
- the lessons I've learned since first starting a year and a half ago
- inspirational people I've met along my journey
- my thoughts on community-building, PR, marketing, evangelism and the like
- what's it like being a woman in the tech startup scene
- examples of effective marketing and outreach

"I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is they must change if they are to get better."
Wow, I love the quote and appreciate the wikipedia link to Lichtenberg. Sounds like he would have loved blogging.
The domain wastedbooks.com is available - fyi.
As for the topic direction, why not have categories that address each - as all are interesting and then you'll always have something to write in one or another category.
Looking forward to reading more.

oops, guess he actually called them waste books, not wasted books - oh well, still a fun domain name.

"what's it like being a woman in the tech startup scene" - sounds like a great focus to me.

or better yet, how about "commenters who can't even spell their own names!" ;-)

I like the idea of inspirational people you have met along the way. I have lulled in posting to my blog lately and some interviews are something I have been thinking would be especially interesting.

I'd like to see more of your thoughts on 'community-building, PR, marketing, evangelism and the like'. I'm diving head first into a lot of those areas at the moment and definitely would love to see some insight on how you've been able to accomplish what you have so far and what you plan on doing in the future.

I think the proposed themes would be interesting, but you need to blog more frequently for people to get a better understanding of how you think about issues.
Less promotion of Lijit here would also be good. Those posts, for me, are not as good as some of the other things you cover.

Wow. I love all the suggestions and owe a big thanks to Robert, Seth, Bethany, Adam and Eric. Your feedback is much appreciated and it looks like I have many ideas to work with now. I'm looking forward to the challenge and welcome any other comments y'all may have!

Hey Tara -
Did you see that you're on the homepage of the Bolder Boulder site wearing your Lijit shirt??
The picture changes slowly so you have to wait for it to come up, but there you are. I think 'Running a 10K race in your company's T-Shirt' should be high on your list of unconventional evangelist techniques. Now you've got the proof!
